Afton is 70 miles from Jackson; 90 miles from Grand Teton National Park; 185 miles from Yellowstone National Park; 105 miles from Idaho Falls; and 215 miles from Salt Lake City. The valley’s elevations range from 5,600 feet at the north end to 7,000 feet at the south end. The population varies seasonally, from 11,000 to 15,000 inhabits.
