Outstanding emergency care and trauma services

Star Valley Medical Center’s emergency room is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. We understand how important high-quality, competent care is—especially in emergency situations. Each year our board-certified physicians, skilled nurses and EMT/CNA provide comprehensive, life saving care to more than 4,000 people in our community.

As well as providing capable emergency care, the Star Valley Medical Center emergency room functions as a level IV trauma center. Our trauma center treats many life-threatening injuries including:

  • Gun shot and stab wounds
  • Major burns
  • Traumatic car injuries
  • Blunt trauma
  • Brain injuries

We are the only level IV trauma center in western Wyoming, and have met stringent criteria in providing comprehensive care for trauma patients. Additionally, each member of our trauma response team has completed advanced life saving training, as required by the state of Wyoming.

Dependable medical professionals providing efficient, life saving treatment

Upon your arrival to the emergency room, one of our highly skilled nurses will assess your medical condition. This initial assessment is crucial, and provides our medical team with the information they need to better understand and treat your medical condition.

Please note: Due to the nature of emergencies, people with a life-threatening illness or injury must be treated first, even if you arrived before them. As a result, you may experience a wait before seeing an emergency room nurse or physician.
