Peaceful, restorative sleep is possible. We can help.

Helping our community get a good night’s rest for more than 40 years.

If you’re reaching for medicated sleep aids more often than not just to get some rest, you’re not alone. Approximately nine million Americans struggle with sleep disorders each year, including:

  • Excessive snoring
  • Insomnia
  • Sleep apnea
  • Restless legs syndrome
  • Narcolepsy

On average, we spend one-third of our lives asleep, so we need to make sure we’re getting the benefits of all that slumber. The Star Valley Medical Center sleep lab can determine the nature of your sleep problem and explore effective ways to treat it.

Improving your quality of life by improving your quality of sleep

While it seems unlikely that a good night’s rest is the foundation for overall health and mental wellness, it’s true. In fact, many sleep disorders, if left untreated, can cause heart problems, difficulty concentrating, irritability, and pain sensitivity. Put your sleep issues to rest with an experienced, effective sleep study at Star Valley Medical Center’s sleep lab.

Treating a variety of sleep disorders in a sophisticated, relaxed, private environment

We’ve taken great care in the design and layout of our sleep lab. So, while you may be in an exam room, it has been designed to look and feel more like a comfortable hotel room. Our sleep technologists and technical equipment are located in a separate room, to help you feel more relaxed, safe and secure throughout your experience.

Once you are in the sleep clinic, small electrode sensors will be placed on your face, chest, and limbs. We will also place flexible elastic belts around your chest and abdomen to measure breathing patterns. Finally, a small probe that fits over your finger will monitor your heart rate and blood oxygen levels. These devices should not cause any discomfort or hinder movements as you sleep.

Throughout the night, we will record different activities of the body, and take several measurements, including:

  • Brain waves
  • Eye movements
  • Heart rate
  • Muscle tone
  • Breathing patterns

If you’re struggling to get a good night’s sleep, our experienced sleep lab specialists can help identify the issues and put them to rest. To learn more about the Star Valley Medical Center Sleep Lab, call 307-885-5959.
